Hello everyone,

I'm unable to find a clear answer regarding what I've read on several forums.

I want to buy 16gb of memory for music production and I can get the F3-2400C10D-8GTX for 50 euro's, so that's a pretty good deal for one of the best sticks out there.

This memory is 2400mhz and I read that for me to run at 2400mhz I have to go in the bios of extreme4 I set the voltage manually higher to run on 2400mhz, so ok that's is not a problem.

However, I read several messages that the I5 2500K won't run higher than 1866mhz, so anything above this is pointless, but I see other people also disagree with this.

So, my question is if this memory will work at 2400mhz with my setup or I cannot use the full potentional of the memory and better go with 16gb of 1600mhz/1866mhz with low timings?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
That CPU has a maximum memory multiplier for 2133. With some CPU BLK overclocking you may achieve ~DDR3-2200, but not 2400.

This is what you want to maximize performance:
