I have an ASROCK Z590 Pro4 motherboard and an trying to install a 1tb Samsung SSD 990 (PCIe 4.0 NVMe M2) Pro drive as a new OS/Boot disk. I put it into the M2-1 socket and it isn't recognised. I haven't tried on the M2-2 socket as that seems to be hidden under the graphics card, and I thought I'd check in here to see if it has a chance of working there. I'm aware that there are lists of compatible drives on the ASROCK website, but this is a new drive and may postdate the last update of the lists.

The CPU is Intel Core i5-10600K

Thanks.

Thanks for the fast response. I wasn't sure how to tell if the processer was 11th gen or not. From that web page, the M2-2 "supports M Key type 2260/2280/22110 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)**". I'm not sure how to check to see if that would include the Samsung SSD 990.
