Hi all,
I built a new PC bout 4 months ago, and loaded AC Black Flag among first list of games to test on new rig. It worked well on most high settings although I did have to tweak some. I only played through to the second level where you first get into his ship and start sailing, and saved the game there.
4months later I have come back to the game since that first try, and when I get into the game where he is at the helm of the ship it freezes. It all seems fine but then as soon as I pivot my mouse around to look at a different view, it freezes. Sometimes it goes to black or white screen or just minimizes to desktop. The sound continues.
So I tried starting complete new game, but it does the same thing 5 seconds into a new game.
The only thing that has changed in 4months is that I downloaded the latest GPU drivers at some point and I also downloaded some additional DLC before I tried again. Thinking maybe the DLC had something to do with it, I deleted all local files and then re-installed the game. But still same problem.
In my research it seems some ppl hint this type of issue could be PSU not getting enough power to GPU, but I had thought my PSU would be enough, and it doesn't make sense why the game was working ok 4months ago on the new rig but all of a sudden not now... Any ideas ?
Also FYI games like GTA 5 are working fine, which I believe are fairly demanding on the GFX so am hoping it's not a GPU fault... Also have never OC'd the GPU at all.
My specs:
Motherboard: Fatal1ty ASRock 990FX Killer Series
CPU: AMD FX 6-Core FX6350 3.9GHz Black Edition
PSU: Corsair RM1000 - 1000watt
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 295x2
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 7 64bit
HDD: 2x 1 TB HDD, Seagate I think not sure...
