Question CPU compatibility ?

I'm trying to replace a blown Asus Prime B250M-A motherboard with an Asus H110-PLUS ATX LGA 1151
that I've spotted on eBay. The larger size is OK. I just need to confirm the processor will be compatible.

The spec for the motherboard lists "Core i5-6400 (2.7GHz, 4C, L3:6M, GT2, 65W, rev.R0)", the processor from the old motherboard has printed on it "Core I5-6400 SR2L7 2.7GHZ X651C583 e4".
Will it work? I'm not sure what the "4C, L3:6M, GT2, 65W, rev.R0" bit on the motherboard specification means. Thanks.

So long as you have BIOS version 0204, you should be able to drop in the processor onto the socket and gain functionality of your platform. Just keep in mind you will need to reinstall the OS after the motherboard swap.
Thanks for that, I'm ok re Operating System.

I'd already looked at the link you supplied, but it has "4C, L3:6M, GT2, 65W, rev.R0" at the end of the CPU spec, and I didn't know how significant it was. I can't relate it to anything on the actual CPU.
