Assassin's Creed Origins

Solution

Well Odyssey is a much larger map from what they're saying, with lots of naval battles, which were not all that well optimized in Black Flag, so I wouldn't count on it being any better in that regard.

This article covers it in depth and will be updated as more feedback data comes in after Odyssey's launch. They basically estimate the performance being 10% lower FPS than Origins on same spec in Odyssey. https://www.game-debate.com/news/25853/assassins-creed-odyssey-pc-frame-rate-performance-analysis-predictions

There's no such thing as a 7400k, just 7400. I can also see how it would average 40 FPS on the lowest preset @ 1080p with that spec since I've seen such hardware run it in outlying desert areas at mid 40s, then mid 30s during combat. It would be even worse in Alexandria. Like it or not it's a demanding game, and requires good hardware to get good results.

That said, I have found it helps to turn Vsync off and use Borderless screen mode.

You're right it is a 7400, but I already used boarderless window and vsync off. Barely even helps.

do you think odyssey will be like this as well?

Solution

well thanks for the help,

No problem, I suggest if you're considering an upgrade you do so as soon as possible. Word is Trump's tarrifs on Chinese imports are going to cause most PC parts to rise in price up to 25% by 1/1/19.

It's me again and I figured out how to get a stable frame rate by locking it to 30 fps and I've been playing ever since 39 hrs. It's a really good game!
