Question Assistance with building a PC

Hi All,

I hope you are well.

I'm looking at getting back into PC gaming, and as such, will need to build a new PC.

I'm not too concerned about pushing ultra FPS/overclocking, just looking for something to play modern titles with longevity.

I currently have two monitors and a 500gb SSD, I have an approximate budget of between £800-£1000.

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated!

Optional gpu.

As you already have 500GB SSD you can use it for now. It be fine. Yes limited on number of games you can fit on it at a time. But I don't expect you to play lot many AAA titles at a time. 500GB is enough to fit in 2-3 AAA titles and still be left with space for all other regular programs and Windows.

AMD build will get you greater FPS at 1080p and great setup for 1080p gaming. Intel one will work at 1080p but comparatively will have a bit less performance in Gaming. If you can stretch budget a bit. I recommend getting the AMD build. If not even Intel one will serve you good for over a long period of time.

Get that GPU registered on their website and that will get it covered for 5Yrs Warranty.

And 2 games at 100GB is half of the usable space of a 500GB drive.

A single 500GB drive is too small for a game system.
He could have 3 games and still have enough space for other basic stuff. So yeah enough for now. In a long run he can upgrade it. He absolutely is fine for now. One cannot upgrade GPU or CPU the same way one can Storage. Not cost effective.

After a year he can easily throw in 100GBP and can add a 2TB drive. He cannot do the same for CPU or GPU right.

And getting back to point. 500GB is absolutely fine. Got enough space for good 2-3games and other basic apps.

If the OP is fine with the storage limitations, then this would be just slightly out of budget, but faster, GPU side.

AM5 build up, lose out on GPU performance now, but get CPU upgrade path.
