Yea, it's a great chip, but $1155 is a little too much to spend just on a CPU I think. Especially when you factor in the price of a new board, RAM, video card(s), cooling and whatever else you want to get with it. That's the problem when upgraded when new technology comes out, you pay through the nose. I did happen to see it on eBay for $868 shipped, but even that is a little much. I'm considering just going with a higher clocked single core for now. Especially with the way software is right now, although I'll see a difference with a dual-core, most apps aren't tailored for it just yet. If I spend let's say $300 on a single core 3.4, it's going to perform alot better (right now) then a 3.2 dual that's 4x the price. All the boards at the beginning of this post will support either chip anyway. I love the Asus, but I'm really starting to like that MSI too. I'm still torn as to which board to go with. I think I'm gonna hold off until the winter for the dual when they go down. At least until the fall. Hmmm.... OC'd 3.4 brought up to 3.8, maybe 4.0? Yeah, that definitely sounds hot right about now 😛
