Hey there everyone,
So I've had this headset for about a year now and Im satisfied with it but recently its been acting up. Everything with the microphone has been going well until 5 days ago. Now the headset mic doesnt hear my voice and recognize it. I thought it might be a hardware problem and tried to fix it by buying another astro replaceable mic. Nothing... really frustrated.. Please try to help.

I have tried:
-Buying a replacement mic
-Updating microphone drivers
-Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers
-Testing on different computers

Even weirder... I tried another headset and that mic isnt picking up my voice.

No my mic is not muted have checked multiple times. :)

Does the following link match your headset?

What connection path/ quick disconnect setup are you using?

The key is to find a process of swapping components, computers, etc. as methodically as possible where only one thing at a time changes.

For example, the mic may not be muted but if the switch has failed then the mic could remain muted.

If you can find a way to test the microphone and demonstrate that the mute works then doing so would eliminate a mute switch failure....

Narrow the problem down to one particular component, plug, or port.

My first thought was that if two "replacement mic's failed then the problem would be the connection between headset and mics....

However, after re-reading your post I had some additional thoughts.

First: clarify "headset mic doesnt hear my voice and recognize it". Are you using some voice recognition software?

Second: that "another headset": did it and, more importantly, its mic work on other computers?

Are you aware of any updates, patches, or configuration changes that occurred "5 days ago"?

Do you see any movement on the sound meters via the Speaker icon and "Recording devices"? Either with respect to the microphone in question or any other listed device?

Windows 10? Have you tried the built in troubleshooters?

Hey there Ralston! Thanks for trying to help me try and figure this out. I'll answer all your questions
1)Sorry about the wording but no I'm not using a voice recognition software. The wording was my bad.
2)UPDATE ON THE 2nd HEADSET: the mic works on this computer that I'm using and works on other computers. It is just the Astros that do not work.
3)No new updates went through my computer for 5 days. No movement what so ever in the recording devices tab other than my webcam microphone. Yes I have tried every method I found.
