Downloaded and flashed the new update on my Maximus VIII Hero board and everything is working as far as I can tell. However the 3007 update has been removed from the board page and is no longer showing. Any idea why it was taken down?

3016? I don't see a 3016 on the ASUS support site, the latest I see is 3007 and then 2202 before it.

hi guys, first i want to say thank vpoko. Thanks to your post about starting without wlan card my pc work now :)
but i have the problem when i power on my pc it takes like 10 sec. to booting screen (that one with Asus logo) from there its normal, but i dont know why it takes 10 sec. its realy anoying. 🙁

i also could NOT flash back to older bios version. i also use 6700K. any ideas what i can do?

When you flashed your BIOS, your settings were probably reset. There are a few settings that can affect boot speed: the Fast Boot option, and also CSM (Compatibility Support Module), which can be disabled if you have a UEFI-compatible OS (Windows 10 is) AND it was installed in UEFI mode. You can disable CSM and try booting, and if it doesn't work, re-enable it.

thanks for the fast reply but it didnt help. i hope that not the hardware got damaged while updateing. it feels like the power supply does need to start at it owns after i use the power button. earlier befor i had this issue, after i pressed the button my mice started to glow. now i start the button i dont get any reaction, only the tower LED shows me that it is on power after 10-15 sec. all devicec get the power and its start to boot normaly. 🙁

I can't imagine that it's damaged hardware; it would be tough to get that minor of a failure from physical damage to a component. Maybe something about the update and your particular hardware configuration, though. Have you tried resetting your BIOS settings (Taking out and battery and shorting the CLRTC jumper)? Maybe it didn't clear when you flashed it and some settings from the old version are causing issues.

Yea, that was exactly the same advice I got from Asus support. It solved all my issues. BIOS works fine now and can easily o/c either base clock or multiplier. 😉

Windows had a bit of a crisis afterwards and it took me a while to get the sucker running from a restore point but it rebooted without Asus suite 3 - so I had to reinstall that but when I did - this was fixed too! Even though it was the same version of Asus suite that had been installed, it looked a bit different (and better) and I was able to set o/c settings via this software too. All good now. :bounce:

Disconnecting, or rather reconnecting the battery on a mini itx mobo in situ isn't much fun though :pfff:

But I would suggest anyone having BIOS issues give it a try. I was sceptical - another of those "not really sure, try switching it off and back on again" suggestions so freely given out by support staff that rarely work. BUT it did on this occasion - I'd spent hours trying to sort out o/c issues with the z170 and was all set to buy a new z270 mobo.

My solution, as recommended by Asus support was disconnect mobo battery. Unplug power lead, wait 5 mins, hold down pc start button for 30 seconds (discharges any residual power I guess) and reconnect everything and restart. A word of warning though - windows may have a "moment" afterwards, make sure you have a restore point set and even a system repair disc first

I tested it on Friday. But it didnt help. Now i made a video of it. Maybe you understand more:
