Hi,

I have serious problem with my Radeon 4850 card.
My PC:
OS: Vista SP1 32b (Clean instalation)
VGA Driver: Catalyst 8.8
MB: Asus P5KC (P35)
VGA: Asus EAH4850/512M
Mem: 4x1GB/DDR2 800Mhz-Transcend
HDD: WD 80GB
Sound: onboard
PSU: LC 420W (real power) Tested !
The problem is:
When I play Crysis in last level the game always going to crush, I have try with few drivers from 8.2 to 8.8 versions and still same problem. In error log manager in windows I got two errors:

Does it only happen in Crysis?

Yes, crysis in the last level only for now.
I have pass Call of Duty 4 without any problems, now I'm playing R6 Vegas 2 without problems also.
Before I was use Geforce 8600GT/256MB with 2GB system memory and I played Crysis without crash problems.

For crysis use 1.2.1 version but I always use newer pathes for games.
In the forum also I readed somebody has crushing problems with 4870 in crysis and other games, I don't known what is the problem ???
Should I try to play crysis in DX9 mode to see for any problems with crashing too.

Yeah try DX9 too and tell us the results.
Also u played Crysis only with 1.2.1 patch? of u played it without any patches too?

have you tried reinstalling? maybe it's a faulty installation.

I tryed with clean insallation of Vista SP1 32b and Crysis and still same problems with last level of game. Now I will trry to install crysis without a patches to see for any problems with crushing.
I don't like a WinXP becouse the imaqe quality is better in Vista then XP.

Image quality of Crysis?
i think u are wrong about it u can have Very High or even Ultra high quality on XP too,its an excellent costume config.

Also does it happen only in the last level ?

Me again,
I have tryed crysis without any patches and I have same problem with crashing in the latest level "Reckoning". The game crashing in level "Reckoning" only, and always got same error log from windows log manager with (d3d10core.dll and atidxx32.dll). I'm running game 1280x1024 High Detail.

I don't knowh what to do, I'll be waiting for Crysis-Warhead.
Now I'm downloading STALKER Clear Sky and the game is 95% downloaded and I'll see for any problem within this game.

Thats strange,u dont have any problems with any games and in Crysis u only have problem with the last level,if it only happens in one level then i think it may be a game bug because u dont have any other problems in other games,

Very strange, game bug or hardware incompatibitlty mean Mobo with Vga card.
Today I will test 4850 on nForce chipset with AM2 Athlon 64 x2 cpu.

I have try to play Crysis on Asus M2N-E (nForce 570 ultra), AMD X2 4000+, 2GB system memory and I have same problem with crashing in the latest level "Reckoning".

So its the game bug,there isnt any problem with your hardware.
Get/Borrow another copy of Crysis from someone if u can and test it.
But because it only happens in 1 mission of Crysis and not other missions and u dont have any problems with other games and u have tested with another system too,then i think there isnt any problem with the PCs,its the games problem.

I have run 3dmark05 and I got ~15000 score, others has ~20000 score, what a f**k is the problem with ATI? In the future I'll never bye ATI again.

Calm down mate dont just run 3DMARK and say i wont buy ATI.
3Dmark (especially an old verion like 05)isnt a good tool to test.
Run some games like COD4,BIOSHOCK....... and see your FPS if it was good then your system is awesome.

Also maybe the guy that got 5000 points more than u had a different rig but with HD 4850,but as i said 3DMARK isnt a very good tool to test your rig,games are more important.

HD 4850 is one of the best cards out there

OK, I beliveyou. Now I'm playing new STALKER clear sky on 1280x1024 with high details dx10 render and the game work fine.
Crysis warhead is cooming very soon about weak or few days more and I'm happy.

how hot does it get?
I used to have this same problem right on the last part where you have to, ok i won't spoil ending but its RIGHT at the end on my old 7950 GT, until I realized it was overheating.
a 120mm fan right next to the card fixed the problem

I´ve also the same problem. In the last level fighting the end boss on the hangar ship deck the game crashes. I´ve a ati radeon 4870 card. I think it is some compability problem with crysis and the ati card. I´ve played through the hole game witn no problem and now I can´t finish the last enemy. **** happens.

About overheating, I´ve a antec 900 with a lot of fans and it is real cold inside the box. the card is around 60 celcius so that shouldn´t be any problem. I´ve bought a powercolor pcs 4870 with better colling then stock.
