I saw this on Asus' web site:

Starting from PCB version 2.0, The A7N8X motherboard supports Front Side Bus (FSB) 400. The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) version is located beside the motherboard name printed on the motherboard. PCB 2.0 BIOS version or later are not compatible with PCB 1.06 or earlier BIOS versions.

Has any one heard of any type of trade up or replacement program?

I'm pretty sure that ASUS will never trade old A7N8X.

I have a A7N8X 1.04 and I'm pretty confident it will run stable at 190-200 Mhz FSB when I will upgrade my CPU/RAM. If you check in the overclocking section, you will see that a lot of people can overclock A7N8X 1.0X near 200 MHz.

I even read somewhere that A7N8X 1.04 and higher can run 200 MHz FSB without any problem.

Agreeing with theRod on the whole, just adding that you may need to add some cooling on the north/south bridges... I know many people find the southbridge on an Epox 8RDA+ mobo (same Chipset, so same chip I guess..) needs some cooling when ocing to around 200FSB and beyond.

$hit Happens. I just wish it would happen to someone else for a change.

the latest bios and some decent ram should do it, however its not the best board for oc, mines running fine at 190x2 on air with cheapish ram,
good oc boards for amd's are epox or abit.
have a scratch around amd forums.
