Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe - sata drive question

Purchased this board last week. Very happy with it but it is unclear
to me if I can use just one sata drive with it alongside IDE drives ?
I don't want to make use of the sata Raid facility yet until I have
sufficient money to buy two sata drives. In the meantime I would like
to use just one as a boot drive. Is this possible or can sata only be
used as Raid ?

You can use just one drive. Or Two. Or two in RAID.

To make it the boot drive select SCSI as the first boot device (or above
IDE, anyway)
