Hello all.
I've been dabbling with retro PC hardware and have run into an issue with a system of mine.
The specs were:
AMD Athlon 64 FX-55
Nvidia GTX 1050
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
4GB RAM
I installed a Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT, and its causing problems, well mainly 1 big problem.
The system powers on fine and produces a display perfectly, but it immediately freezes on the BIOS splash screen.
I tried all the classic troubleshooting steps. I reset the CMOS, reseated the RAM, even tried leaving it be for a bit. No results.
Oddly enough, after switching back to the 1050 it booted as normal, no freezing, straight to Windows XP.
I also tried with a second 6800 GT I have (intended for SLI) and faced the same issue. Meaning it can't be a faulty card.
If anyone smarter than I knows how to fix this, please let me know.
