Hello everyone

I just tried to install my new GTX 1080 into the following system:

MoBo: ASUS Z87-K
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770
CPU-Kühler: Watercooling RTS2011LC
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 770
PSU: Corsair CX600W (600W)
SSD: 2x Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

And the following error occured:
"Asus anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply"

Should I just change my PSU?

Thanks for helping.

if you are sure you have properly inserted the video card into the system and have the correct power cords into it and there is nothing else you changed, then yes get a newer psu, I suggest 650W Like of a Corsair or Seasonic 650w 80+ Bronze/Gold Rated PSu. the CX600 (green label) is not well rated as a PSU. I assume you replaced the 770 with the 1080 of course.

I am sure I properly inserted the video card into the system, although what makes me think is, that the problem only occurs with the gtx 1080 and not with the 770 even after I reinstalled the 770

@sizzling Thats what I thought as well

@The Paladin With certain inconviniencies I would be able to test it on another computer, but I hardly doubt it's the GPU's fault.

I will just exchance the PSU to the Corsair VS650 (650W) that should be fine, right?

No, VS are poor quality. The new CXM 650 would be an ok choice. Don't cheap out on psu, gaming pc's put the psu under high load for long periods time and a psu failure can destroy your whole pc in the worst case scenario. Quality is important.
