The two cards featured:

■ MSI GeForce GTX 560TI Twin FrozR II 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe £179.98 (dabs)
■ Asus ATI Radeon 6950 HD 810MHz 1GB PCI-E HDMI DirectCU II £174.99 (dabs)

So one of these graphics cards will go in a Z68 motherboard with a intel i5 2500k, and it will have 8gb worth of ram installed.

Which is better and why?

OR

Would it be better for me to save another £30 and buy a Raedon 6950 2gb version instead?
And if so please post a link to one.
thanks

Thats not what i saw when reading the reviews, it said that the 560ti was a better card for noise, tempretures, power consumption, and a few games as well. So it would be wiser to go with the 560ti.

AMD cards generally are quieter and less power hungry. And yes, the 6950 1gb will generally beat out the 560ti.

Honestly though, it doesn't matter which one you pick. I chose an Asus GTX 560ti and I am VERY happy with it. You won't notice the difference in performance between the two.

Tough call to make now. It seems both have there ups and downs. Is there a answer to this question?

I might purchase another one later on to make a SLI/XFIRE .

In that case buy the 6950. AMD has better scaling when it comes to multiple cards setup.

You will have greater performance gain with two 6950 that with two gtx560ti.

if u wanna go crossfite, get the 2GB version just so u wont meet frame buffer bottlenecks in the future, demanding games like Metro 2033 will choke with just 1GB when u actually turn everything up

I also agree with this. Especially when 30 pounds is not that much. And we all presumed that you have or will have the PSU to run it.

Sorry to bring this back up again.

I just found 2 new offers from overclockers and i am wandering which one to go for.

GeForce GTX 570 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £209.99

MSI ATI Radeon HD 6950 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition 2048MB GDDR5 £205.99

Which would you go for?

Just noticed that the 570 was a refurb and only has 1 yr warranty.

On that basis i will probably choose the 6950 twin FrozR III.
