I can't figure out how to connect front panel connectors to my Asus prime b250m-a motherboard. I checked the manual that came with the motherboard but didn't find anything helpful.
Thanks, this was so helpful.fastnoodles :I can't figure out how to connect front panel connectors to my Asus prime b250m-a motherboard. I checked the manual that came with the motherboard but didn't find anything helpful.
In your Asus Prime B250M-A motherboard, the front panel connection is a 9-pin header located near the bottom right corner of the board, just to the upper-right of the screw hole in that area. Such header would look similar to this:
There are 9 total pins laid out as:
[o][o][o][o][x]
[o][o][o][o][o]
Depending on your case, you should have the following front panel cables that look similar to these:
You then plug the front panel cables into the 9-pin header of your motherboard like this:
PWR LED (+) at the left; (-) at the right --> [o][o][o][o][x] <-- POWER SW (+)/(-) orientation does not matter
HDD LED (+) at the left; (-) at the right --> [o][o][o][o][o] <-- RESET SW (+)/(-) orientation does not matter
Note that the bottom-rightmost pin is not connected.
