Question for the more indept Windows users...

Been getting this error consistently on Event viewer and just trying to resolve them now.

The Secure Boot update failed to update a Secure Boot variable with error Secure Boot is not enabled on this machine.. For more information, please see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2169931

Event code 1796. AS usual Microsoft do not really explain the issue. Or give a reasonable solution.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...e-events-37e47cf8-608b-4a87-8175-bdead630eb69 as this post has a loop link, typical of MS support. Especially with > . For more information, please see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2169931 which just loops itself.

going to try this,
1. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:
  • Enter your BIOS/UEFI during startup (usually by pressing Del, F2, F12, or Esc).
  • Navigate to the Boot section and ensure Secure Boot is enabled.
  • Verify that the boot mode is set to UEFI.
  • If CSM (Compatibility Support Module) is enabled, try disabling it.
  • Save changes and restart.

Just updated my BIOS today, after seeing a new one on the website.

https://www.asus.com/motherboards-c...helpdesk_bios?model2Name=TUF-GAMING-B550-PLUS

In my BIOS, I had CSM Boot CSM Support module
Lauch CSM that is disabled.

In the boot / Secure boot section
Secure boot state - User
Platform Key(PK) state - unloaded
OS type = was set to OTHER / Changed to Windows UEFI

Saved and rebooted after flashing my BIOS now to 3621.

Version 3621

My PC been running since updated BIOS version and settings, so far not seeing this error in EV Yet!

Normally i would notice it hanging my PC completely sometimes my mouse can move, other times just hard locks. Unless we check EV every day half these error messages get missed.
