Same thing just happened to me this morning. I turned on PC (ASUS Gryphon Z97 M.B.) to see only a couple text lines on screen: "BIOS is updating. Do not shutdown or reset the system to prevent system bootup failure".

I never initiated a BIOS update, so strange to see that message. I disconnected my data hard drive in case it was malware, then waited a while, but nothing ever happened. Doing a restart gave same message.

I fixed it by doing the following: I pulled out the memory cards and sprayed card contacts and sockets with "CRC QD Electronic Cleaner" (from Home Depot). Also pulled power supply connector and sprayed connector and socket. Noticing a lot of dust in CPU fan blades and case fan blades, I cleaned all the...
It probably bricked your pc. It happens. Try to reboot it, if it doesn't work, put a new bios on a usb stick and use the button on the back to restore the bios. Bios updates shouldn't happen automatically, that's kind of weird.

As I said, your pc is bricked. As in, it's a brick. You need to download a bios version from the asus website, put it on a usb key, plug it into a usb port, turn on the pc, enter the bios, and follow the instructions.

I have tried your it worked but got stuck on Click del to go to bios. Now i cant even launch it lights on MB on but when i click on start up button nothing so i called it a IT guy who i know and said what happend and he told me to send it to RMA. Yesterday i will be sending it to him for disassembly.

This is not an RMA situation, it's simply a "calm down and follow the instructions" situation. That motherboard is specifically designed to be able to fix this situation. It's built for that.

But if you already sent it to him yesterday, why are we even talking about this?

Sorry i meant tomorrow. I dont know what more to do becase it wont boot.

As found here, it doesn't always work: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/780455-ASUS-Crosshair-VI-Hero-BIOS-Brick

Noticing a lot of dust in CPU fan blades and case fan blades, I cleaned all the dust out with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol, then vacuumed all the dust I could see on motherboard and inside case. Then reinserted memory cards and reconnected power supply. It started right up as usual after that.

Afterwards, I did download the BIOS "CAP" file, renamed it "Z97GP.CAP" as per page 3-1 of the Gryphon Z97 MB user guide, and wrote it to a Flash Drive, so I'll be prepared to reload BIOS in the future.
