Solution

Max ram for that board is 64GB. Your issue isn't the board. My guess is either a ram limit from your OS, or you used to have 16GB and trying to upgrade to 32GB and you need to uncheck the box in MSconfig.

Here choose a 32Gb kit from the correct list for your CPU. What's your CPU?

Would really help to lets us know which cpu you are planning on or running.
I have that board and yep that ram isn't on any of the qvl's for it.

While using g.skill configurator it isn't showing any 3000 4x8 kits with your model # for any of the asus x470's or b450's i can see.

But without knowing what budget or cpu you have or planning on it's hard to say what mobo.
The Msi x470 pro carbon is showing your ram for 2000 & 3000 non g series cpu's
With no 3000mhz listed for 1st Gens

Also looks like this has it also.

The ram he had works on the board so I wouldn't worry about the QVL. He tried doubling the ram and it didn't pick up of it. Assuming the new sticks aren't DOA the issue is what I mentioned in the first post. He doesn't need a new CPU or board.
