Heyo,

I have a custom built Win 8 (NOT 8.1) standard edition (NOT Pro). I have been trying to enable Virtualisation. I go into the Graphical Bios and then advanced mode then advanced tab then CPU Configuration. I have enabled Virtualisation however when I boot up Task Manager says that Hyper-V Supported: Yes and Virtualisation: Disabled.

My laptop has Virtualisation enabled and in Task Manager Hyper-V Supported: Yes is gone and Virtualisation: Enabled is there. So why won't my bios allow me to enable Virtualisation?

My bios also has the following under CPU Configuration:

Intel Adaptive Thermal Monitor: Enabled
Active Processor Core: All (I have the options of All, 1, 2 or 3 yet I have a quadcore so where is 4??)
Limit CPUID Maximum: Disabled
Execute Disable Bit: Enabled
Intel Virtualisation Technology: Enabled
Hardware Prefetcher: Disabled
Adjacent Cache Line Prefetch: Disabled

Then at the bottom I have another area called CPU Power Management Configuration. In that are:
CPU Ratio: Auto
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology: Enabled
Turbo Mode: Enabled
CPU C1E: Auto
CPU C3 Report: Auto
CPU C6 Report: Enabled
Package C State Support: Auto

Thanks for any assistance :)

Protokohl, :)

I had a look and they are talking about Win 8 Pro, as I said I don't have Pro and instead it can be enabled from my BIOS as that supports it. The article also talked about servers and stuff which isn't related to me.
