Hello all, new Tom's Hardware user here!
I've purchased a PHILIPS 34E1C5600HE Ultra-wide monitor, I have it hooked up to my 3060 via DP. If I use the monitors button and hold it down, the monitor powers off, but I hear the Windows device disconnect and all windows on that display shift to my 1080p monitor. When in the evening from inactivity and Windows turns off monitors automatically, the same thing happens.
I'm using the Ultra-wide as my primary and then 2 1080p monitors side by side above it. I need the display configuration to maintain on the Ultra-wide for when I come back to my desk to work.
Which is the best option here:
1) Use HDMI cable instead of DP? Will this maintain display handshake? I haven't tried this yet but feel it will be no different as the monitor seems to entirely shut off.
2) Buy a EDID copy/emulator inline on the DP/HDMI cable that copies the Ultra-wide EDID to Windows so it never thinks it's gone?
3) Is there some power saving setting I can change in this particular monitor to prevent this?
4) Any other solutions?
Thanks!
