ASUS GTX 770 Problem

Hello all,

I recently purchased the ASUS 770 GTX with the DirectCU II cooler. I made this choice in hopes to get a very quiet card [I've been increasingly sensitive to coil whine and fan noise]. The card has been running well for the last couple of weeks and within appropriate temperatures. However, this is only the case after setting a custom fan profile and tweaking the card for hours. There are a couple of worries I had;

1. Currently have a HAF 932 Advanced with an EVGA x79 FTW. There doesn't seem to be any alignment issues; this is the first card I've had that literally bends. Starting around 50% of the way down the length of the card, it sags considerably. I'm not sure if this constitutes an RMA. Would a new one even fix this?

2. More importantly, the fans are loud without my custom fan profile. Now, don't get me wrong - I'm aware of how loud a video card should run. The problem is, the fans will make an inconsistent noise around 65% and above - like a pulsing or oscillating noise. Every card I've owned just sounds like a loud fan when its turned high - a noise I do not mind. Is this fan noise a problem? Could it be related to the bending of the card perhaps? It is worth noting the fan will approach 85-90% on AUTO.

I'm hoping someone can enlighten me about this card. Is my experience normal or should I RMA? If it is normal...I might just ditch the card line all together. I can't imagine it would be revered as a quiet card if it made such uncomfortable sounds.

I have a evga gtx 760 ftw..it wasnt "loud" but it was noticeable at idle and hair dryer level at load. What I did was flash some different bios to it. Allowed me to drop the stock fan speed from 40 to 33...which made the card silent, and I made a profile to keep it at 33...even while gaming. It operates at 100% performance, silent while gaming and doesnt reach over 80 c on the lowest fan setting, BEAST. Drop your fan down to the lowest and keep it there? as long as it can keep at 100% performance with 90 c and under you should be good.
