Asus H170 Pro Gaming or Asus Z170-A?

I had the H170 but exchanged it to the Z170-A to overclock my i5 6600k. Was this a smart move? I am somewhat regretting doing this but am not sure why? Still a noob to this stuff. The H170 looked nicer and seemed to have more features for less money.

It's always best to ask for advice BEFORE you buy. No reason to regret what's already done. The Asus Z170-A is a great motherboard. You'll be happy with your setup.

I would have never bought the 6600k in the first place. The Asus H170 Pro is a great board too but it's overpriced.

Z170 chipsets allow for overclocking as you know, also the z170a has pretty much every important and useful feature of high end z170 boards, like sli xfire, usb type c, etc, so the choice you've made is the right one, no idea how the h170 seemed to have more features.
