Hey guys, i'm new to this thread, but i have a quick question also i need some help.
ok i have a asus k53sv laptop, i recently had a motherboard swap because my old board was having battery charging issues eventually the board died. I got a replacement motherboard, the problem is the rev i got was rev 2.3, the one that came with my laptop was rev 3.0, the laptop is working fine since i put in the replacement motherboard all the driver was install from asus site , except my nvidia gt540m is not detecting. when i got to device manager to see if its there the only one that shows is the intel hd3000, when i try downloading the nvidia drivers both from asus site and the from nvidia site they give me a message stating that there is no hardward found. I went as far as to use the optimus viewer and tester tool and it says gpu off. Is there anyway to fix this problem? are is it because of the different rev? also i still don't quite understand why it wouldn't detect my gpu because i mean how would nvidia know that i am using a different rev, i guess i am asking how does this work is it all about the bios if so the board as the nvidia gpu on it so why the driver didnt just detect it and install it ? thanks for any help i can get in advance even if it just to understand how things work.
