ASUS laptop DVD drive not working

My ASUS laptop is suddenly not reading DVD's. When i put it in it sounds as if it's trying to read it but after a few minites it just stops and does nothing. I open up computer and no disc is recognized. I t was working a few days ago while trying to watch a TV series but the next day I switched the disc and now it won't work. Any ideas?

I recommend to run this " Fix it" http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems If the drive still does not read the dvd disc, you may have to buy the new one.
