I have a 3 year old Asus laptop. It just recently stopped working on the battery, and will only work when plugged in. Could it be the daughter board and/or the battery? Are they easy to fix?
I had a similar problem but it wasn't the battery alone, the charger was also at fault. When the battery is plugged in the charger will attempt to run both the laptop and charge the battery. If the charger isn't capable of that power anymore the laptop will shut off or refuse to turn on.

Hi offroadguy56 and shmoochie. Thanks for your help. I'll have a new charger tomorrow, and will give it a go and see what happens. If the battery doesn't charge, then it's the battery also. Going for the easy fix first, then will take on the battery if needed. Amazon has them. Thanks again, ogsurfrider.
