Hello, first post here, so have mercy 🙂
I have an ASUS UX303LB that has a sleep disorder. It's one of those thing that need to just work, but it doesn't, and it's slowly eating away at my sanity.
The problem
I've set up hibernation. It's not that it doesn't work, it just works whenever it bloody wants.
Sometimes it works fine - wakes up, goes and stays into hibernation just as it's supposed to.
Way more often than not - it doesn't - it wakes up fully and stays up until the time comes to sleep again.
It makes no difference if I have input devices/HDMI plugged in or if I have WI-FI on or off.
When I was doing my final research for this post, I found this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWzo7ndq3DU. It seems that mine is not the only ASUS laptop with this problem.
What I've done
- Updated BIOS, yada yada yada...
- Disabled all wake-capable devices.
- Disabled all wake timers.
- Disabled waking up for maintenance.
- Checked Event Viewer - all the events (both when hibernation occurs and when it doesn't) state the reason for waking up is "Power Button". There are no other suspects here.
- Tried with half-size and full-size hibernation file to no luck.
- Tried setting up different delays for hibernation just for the sake of it - seemed to get better with shorter ones, until it got worse again.
What's next
As a last resort I might try uninstalling all drivers to see if it makes a difference. I really really don't want to, because I use my laptop for work every day and I don't enjoy crapping where I eat.
Could anyone give me some idea on where to look next? Is there some hidden log that I have missed?
Does anyone face the same issue? Any progress?
Thanks a lot!
