Asus M4A78LT-M LE memory overclock help please

Greetings!

Please help me with the following;

I just got myself a decent pair of Corsair Vengence DDR3 8GB sticks at 1600MHz. My Asus M4A78LT-M LE does not post when I place those sticks in 🙁. I've read on this forum that it is an OC issue.

So, I've tried OC'ing in the BIOS to match what the memory is. Please see link with the images for the BIOS, memory & CPU-Z screenshots. Also included are screenshots of current memory at 1333MHz that works fine.

What I am missing?

the one on the list is m1 not m2 and 10 and not 9 before the b this is a single 8 gig stick at 1600 .

Yep, I know what you are talking about. What I have is an 8GB kit with 2x 4GB sticks.

Forgot to mention earlier, that I have tried both the sticks & they both give me the same "no post" result.

if you could try them in another system to see if they will work could be defective memory sticks .

for your cpu you need the 503 bios from it memory bug correction then the 801 another memory and stability correction the last 803 for system http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A78LTM_LE/#support

All the fixes are included in the latest BIOS.

That is why I posted since if misread somebody might go and flash several times.

Guys, I have not flashed this mobo, ever. So, it still has the factory BIOS on it. I don't have a floppy on this PC. So, I just need to go the USB route. Will update & try the 1333 custom timings again & post here.

Your Athlon prob can't carry 1600 sticks, try starting with 1333, 8-8-8-24, 2T and DRAM voltage a t 1.6 and give it a try

And again, no post. I'm afraid to up the voltage higher than 1.62, just in case I end up frying my older 1333 sticks.

A BIOS update may certainly be in order!

Guys! You rock! I updated the BIOS to 803, plugged in the sticks, set the timings manually, left the voltage to auto & BOOM!

It works! I'm giddy with all this RAM!
