I updated my cheap mobo, now I have the Asus m5a97 evo r2.0 and Im very dissapointed, the fan speeds are very high.
I have the X4 955 BE inbox cooler, the cpu is good at 37º-40º IDLE, I had those temps during last 3 years. Now using this Asus de IDLE is usually 32º-34º too much rpm for a IDLE status, anyway the worst part is when its not in IDLE, usually 3400rpm average and 5800rpm full :pt1cable:

I installed AI suite II + fan xpert 2 and I set the speeds, that was perfect BUT later I notice that this software is a big piece of shit (sorry). Seriusly, after install it, the windows boot is very very slow(AI suite is the last icon appear, slowing down the pc during long time), I unnistalled the crap and even after unnistall it(and restart) the fan "service" was still running slowing the windows boot, I had to use my windows image and restore the OS :pfff:

So finally I set the speeds directly on the BIOS(or I tried), but I really miss the speed manager, I would like to have the fan control at any time, so I can change it when I go to gamming, when I go afk etc...

I was looking alternatives and I dont find anything good. Already tried speedfan, and there are not pre-values for this mobo, there are some weird codenames, I cant set up that, too much for me.
Also I tryed AMD overdrive utility, this one just ignore everything(already enabled overdrive in ccc), seems that it doesnt apply the speeds. Also I tried msi afterburner, this one is for gpu fan only.

Any other alternatives? sorry too long post and also bad english :ange:

Do you think that this zalman controller is compatible? I must have this over there:
