Hey gang what are the major differences in these 2 ASUS motherboards other than the prices . I am in the process of building me a new PC * i am going with the ASUS M5A97 2.0 & i am just wanting to know why everyone recommends the M5A97 2.0 over the M5A97 LE.20 is it something in the heat sinks or what I was considering the AsRock 970Extreme 3 R2.0 but the ASUS seems to be the better over the AsRock & the M5A97 LE too

The M5A97 2.0 is a solid board.

Notice on the LE they cheaped out with weaker VRMs and cooling:

The ASRock 970Extreme 3 R2.0 is feature rich but also has weak VRMs

Guys i'am going with the ASUS M5A97 2.0 for my new build you guys are right it's a solid motherboard & it will run good for me .I have been doing alot of reading & watching videos of the ASUS M5A97 2.0 & it will do very well in my new system

I sure will post all of my results when i get everything build & first i have to get the rest of my PC FUND lol up I am thinking of ordering it as i get the money t obuy a part since the S&H is free I may take a little longer but i wont have to come up with the$1,000+ all at once .But the ASUS M5A97 2.o is my only choice of motherboards I am not dissing any of the other motherboards I just like the M5A97 2.0 over the LE version

I think the LE designation must mean 'Limited or base edition'. A bought the LE version and a Cooler Master Case for it. Both are great items imo, however, the case has a USB3 x2 front panel input and connects to the non-LE mobo. So, in regards to the m5a97 LE and no-LE designations, ... with the images of these you will note that the no-LE boards do have the mobo USB3 option on board (just below the 24 pin power connection.
Having a case with a front panel USB3 input with the mobo link (19 pin I believe) is a plus and well worth the extra bucks.
Hope this helps.
