Hi

I bought this motherboard and AMD fx 6300 black edition processer. Just to clarify its running windows 7 home premium 64bit.

Like so many others, the bios only registers 4gb its detecting the dimms if I look under the north bridge in the bios and windows detects 8gb but only 4gb is useable. I even switched the ram out for 4gb which the system again havled to 2gb useble! (windows updates were fun on 2gb of ram :( )

If I run CPU-Z the memory screeen says 8gb but tha channel says single? if I look at the SPD tab slots 2 and 4 are detected as 1 4gb dimm in each. The ram is 2x4gb crucial 1333mhz DDR3.

I dont understand why its only using half of the ram installed? Can any one help?

Jessica

Thats one if the first things I tried apparently 2501 is the latest version according to Asus suite.

The board is advertised as dual channel so why is only one channel working um sure I'm missing something...:(

2x4gb crucial 1333mhz DDR3

With no part number, that could be any number of different Crucial models.

Sometimes people try to combine single sticks and the combination is incompatible. Running at a slower memory clock may remedy the compatibility problem however you aren't using the proper memory for an FX processor. The FX CPU uses 1866MHz memory with one DIMM per channel or 1600MHz memory with two DIMMs per channel.

I suggest using a kit of two and using D.O.C.P or Manual settings in the Ai Overclock Tuner menu to set the DRAM Timings and Memory Clock. Standard DRAM voltage is 1.5volts.

Thank you for replying

I have two sets of ram (one spare)
CT51264ba1339.M26f 2x4 GB Crucial 1333mhz pc3-10700 DDR3
CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 2x2 GB Corsair xms3 1600hmz CMX4GX3M2A1600C9

Its been having the total installed amount on both. I guess if its the wrong ram, then apart from buying more there's nothing to do? I'm just worried ill get more ram and the same channel issue will happen.

I am just wondering if I put my older Amd 6 core phenom into M5A97 LE R2 will both channels of the CT51264ba1339.M26f 2x4 GB Crucial 1333mhz pc3-10700 DDR3 be recognised?

I pretty sure a single channel dimm will work I did try to oc my 1600mhz corsair to 1866 had to up the voltage but no luck. I guess I'm just concerned about buying more ram and it still not working.

I have never seen this issue before so it caught me by surprise. I will look at getting some more ram maybe 16gb just incase it doesnt work.

CT51264ba1339.M26f does not seem to be a valid number for anything.

Model CT51264BA1339 looks to be a single. Combining singles is not guaranteed to work, however there is a chance it will work. That is doing your own compatibility testing.

A kit of two has already been tested for compatibility and is guaranteed.

Do you think this would work? with the motherboard and CPU?

Corsair Vengeance Pro Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (CMY8GX3M2A1866C9B)

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-374-CS

Nope it did not work >.> CPUZ still says single channel only 8 GB installed 4 useable
