ASUS M5A97 R2.0 + FX-8150 + GSKILL RipJaw 16GB 2400

I'm having an issue getting these 3 components to work together and be happy.

Originally it wants to put the RAM in DDR3-1600 mode, but if I put it in DOCP mode and then 2400, it does not complete POST, or if it does, it doesn't complete a boot up. So I can back it down to DDR3-2200 and it works fine.

Any ideas why? The RAM I have in it is rated at DDR3-2400 (GSKILL RIPJAW series) and the board is supposedly capable of supporting such RAM, and I would assume the CPU as well.

What am I missing?

1) ASUS M5A97 R2.0 can support up to 2133mhz (oc). http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/specifications/
2) The FX-8150 can support up to 1866mhz RAM, http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series%20FX-8150.html you can oc the ram but the MB does limit the speed, that why you can the at 2200mhz but can't run at the 2400mhz.

1600 for sure maybe 1866.

Here it's the CPU thatfigures in, the 8150 can run 1866 (2 sticks) and possibly 2133, will usually need additional MC (memory controller) voltage (the CPU/NB voltage) and also additional DRAM voltage (prob 1.7) for 2133

The board may 'support' 2400, but it's the MC (memory controller) in the CPU that determines things, I've seen some 8150s hit 2133, but not 2400 (though it's possible I guess). Been working w/ a 8370 and have gotten it to 2400
