Recently built a new PC. Configuration is like this.

AMD FX8350 Processor
Asus- M5A99FXPRO R2.0 Mother Board
Corsair Vengegance 4GB DDR3 RAM
Sapphire 5450 2GB DDR3 Graphic Card
Cooler Master Hyper 212 X CPU Cooler
With 500GB HDD

my question is, i found SPDIF option in the motherboard, please experts guide me how do i connect SPDIF out to my Philips HTB 5520/94 Bluray Hometheater. Can it play sound in 5.1 channel.

It should work just by plugging an SPDIF cable from the Optical out on the back of your motherboard to the Optical in on your hometheatre system - you may need to select the right input on the Philips, and tell Windows to use the Optical out in Control Panel.
