Hi everyone,
I went to switch my computer on today and the screens would not switch on. The night before I had opened it up to clean some dust from fans etc and then when I switched it back on the screens would not switch on.
I have an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 motherboard installed, a windforce Graphics card and 8GB of RAM.

I have done the following:

1)removed each RAM and cleaned sockets and replaced RAM.
2)plugged one RAM in and switched on (Still no boot).
3)plugged other RAM in and also switched RAM sockets (still no boot).
4)unseated graphics card and cleaned sockets, reseated card (still no boot).
5)read the ASUS manual and observed what it stated about the RED status leds.
(When I switch the system on the red leds all light up and then go out except the VGA led which stays lit. It also stays lit if I remove the graphics card completely..

6) I have unplugged both hard drives and just tried to get a POST(no POST).
7)removed Cmos battery and left for 10 minutes, put it back in (still no POST)
I don't seem to be getting any beeps, but I can't remember if this machine ever beeped at all, although I'm sure it used to when I switched it on.

Is my Motherboard screwed or is it the graphics card.
The CPU red led on the motherboard lights and then goes out and all the fans switch on and work etc, but sadly no POST.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank.

what the gpu and psu?
  • WINDFORCE 3X Cooling system with Composite Heat-Pipes
  • Powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 GPU
  • Integrated with 2GB GDDR5 memory, 256-bit memory interface
  • Features Dual-link DVI-I/ DVI-D / HDMI / DisplayPort
  • BASE:1085MHz / BOOST:1150 MHz
  • System power supply requirement: 500W
PSU has 80 plus written on it. This PC has worked fine for ages and then suddenly it stopped switching the displays on.

Hi guys!
Same thing here, but i have Asus Radeon VII 16gb
Basicaly it started some years ago, but now it's often.
i opened side panel and started to check LED bulbs. Usualy at the start it stoped at CPU, but now at GPU.

I did like this.
Turned ON, waiting for red LED on MB, where is the problem, then press restart switch. Ofcourse i am doing this repeatable. Today it took 1h to turn on, but still, its working. :D
I know guys it's like pain in the as*, but Till he die...
