This motherboard has 5 fan headers on it. My case (Corsair 350D) will have 5 fans. Would I have any problems hooking them all up to the motherboard? I have no room for a fan controller in one of my two bays (taken up by XSPC Raystorm 240). Will I be able to control them in the BIOS, will they always run at full speeds? Thank you!

Solution
you should have no problems using the 5 fan feaders on the mobo, that's what they are there for. And I am pretty sure that the Asus software has a program to allow you to control the fan speed using BIOS or a supplemental program in its AI Suite. As far as the NZXT Grid, not an expert on it, but I believe it is controlled directly by the PSU, so the fans would always be running full speed. IMHO, going with the mobo fan headers is your best option.

i5 3570k
Sapphire 7970 Vapor X 3 GB Ed.
Corsair HX 650 80+ Gold
Going to use white 8 and 24 Pin braided cable extensions, but that shouldn't matter 😛

Fans will be SP 120 x2, AF 140 x2, AF 120 X1

the mobo has 5 fan headers, but two are for the CPU HSF, if your HSF only has one fan, then you can connect four case fans to the other four headers. However, If your CPU HSF uses both of the CPU fan headers, then you could only connect three case fans to the remaining three fan headers. A way around this would be to find/buy one or two fan splitter cables. Most computor parts stores (Micro Center, Best Buy, etc.) or e-tailors (Newegg, TigerDirect, etc) carry them. Just make sure the one connector end will fit the pin on the mobo and that the two split ends will fit your fan connectors. (Cable is also refered to a a Y-splitter).

Oh, my mistake, in my 5 fans, I'm including the CPU fans. 2 top fans under my radiator for exhaust, 2 front intakes, and a rear exhaust.

I'm just wondering if there's any harm in using all of the fan headers on the Motherboard, and will I be able to control how fast the fans spin. If it's not too loud, I'll want to run them at full speed all the time, since they're quality fans and are build for silence with rubber around them to reduce vibration.

I was also thinking about the NZXT Grid. Just plug them all into that and then into the PSU, my main thing is just being able to control speeds.
