I have just built my second PC with these parts:

I7 8700k.
Asus Maximus X Hero.
16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200mhz.
EVGA GTX1080ti
Samsung M.2
Samsung evo SSD
Crucial SSD
Toshiba 2tb HDD
Corsair RM650x PSU
NZXT Kraken X62
HUE+

The issue I'm having is that when I first turn the PC on, it starts to boot up and then quickly shuts off and then successfully boots into windows 10. (Restarts and shutdowns without unplugging from the wall has no issues)

I was running XMP to get my RAM to run at 3200mhz, I also changed my m.2 to 4x mode (in the m.2_2 slot)

I then reset bios to optimal defaults and the issue no longer happened, same result when I put the m.2 back to 4x.

I'm left with the conclusion that XMP is causing issues, but I'm a bit concerned that I'm stuck with the RAM at 2166 (ish) speeds.

I have seen several threads about this issue with no definitive solution except that it's 'normal' with Asus boards. However my last board was a Asus Strix z270f and that didn't have any issues.

Once in windows everything seems fine and I can run games etc but I really would like to solve this, as I usually shutdown my PC and unplug from the wall and would prefer not to deal with this double boot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou in advance:)

P.s I'm a complete novice to overclocking and manually setting RAM timings etc
