Good evening. I'm working on my first PC build for my youngster for Christmas and we're both getting our a$$es kicked. Here's the specs;
MB; ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-F WIFI II
updated to the latest 1801(?) BIOS
CPU: INTEL I9 14900K
GPU: ASUS TUF GAMING GEFORCE
RTX 4070TI SUPER
RAM: 128gb CORSAIR VENGENCE DDR5 6kmhz
K. Now the problem we're having is that windows keeps saying the system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for windows 11. I created a bootable USB with windows 10 and gave that a try and got an error about that too, though I don't remember what the error was. Everything I've seen for troubleshooting this seems to require that windows is installed. If windows was already installed, I wouldn't be having a problem installing windows.
🤔 Is there a limit to how many times these things can be booted into bios settings before they brick themselves? If so, it's likely to happen soon! Lol

Did you turn off Secure Boot before attempting the install?

Is TPM enabled?

Don't know if you are using 2 or 4 sticks of RAM. Have you tried just a single stick in various RAM slots?
Tbh I can't remember at this point everything that we've tried... One of those situations in which we look back over 2 days and say "it would've been handy to write down exactly what we've done" but we did not.
If I understand correctly, tpm is ptt on an Asus MB and we have enabled that.
I don't believe we've tried it with secure boot off, we will try that tonight.
I do know that there's (4) 32g sticks of RAM and we have not removed them and tried with just one. We will also do that tonight.

What workload requires use of 128GB of ram?
Will your youngster be running multiple virtual machines or enterprise level databases on this pc?

For gaming - 16GB is plenty, 32GB - more than enough, 128GB - ridiculous.
🤣 Yeah I know it's overkill to a spectacular degree. I originally bought 64g for it, and he threw in his own money for the additional 64g, I'm sure it's just for bragging rights amongst his friends.

Idk what emblem to tap to post a pic on here. WTF HAPPENED TO WORDS!?!?!

After getting through the license number entry, a screen pops up that says
"This pic can't run windows 11"
"This pic doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to install this version of windows. For more information, visit [website]"
I've verified that the CPU is supported by windows.
