well, that's the problem right now i'm facing. Mobo model is Asus z87-k. Processor i5 4570. 4 chasis fan running. GPU gtx 770.

Every other component's temp is normal. Just mobo is constant at 111°C. checked with Speccy, CPUID and Corsair Link.

Can't find the temp option in Asus's shitty BIOS. it just shows the CPU temp. NO MOBO.

Solution
okay folks/ I've some news.

I just ran PRIME95 SMALL FFTs test for 10 mins. 100% cpu usage.

Fortunately the 3rd sensor of the mobo remained at 111°C. 1st and 2nd one were just 30°C. But The 4th one jumped to 65°C. after the test, it dropped to 36°C.

I think I got my answer.
If it is a constant 111 degrees, no matter what you do, right after booting and also after using the PC intensely for a few hours, in summer and in winter alike, then it's clearly a defective temp reading. If on the other hand the temp reading varies, even if slightly, then there might be a real problem.

well it shows the 'right' temp all before, about 1-1.5 years ago. I used to check temp all the time. then I gave up.

today i cleaned the whole chassis. then gave a thought to check after all this time. then i discovered that. don't know how long it's been showing.

let me know what you get.

In the mean time, I will try MAFIA 3 to see how the temp rises.
