Hey guys, I’m building new pc with i7 8700 non-k, and I’ve ordered asus b360 tuf pro gaming. I’ve read that asus motherboards have vcore and temps issues, is that true or it’s more like for Z chipset? Cuz a lot of people claim vcore on asus mobos go up to1.4 and temps hit 100 degrees in a blink of an eye, need help ASAP it’s coming tomorrow.

Xmp is a preset profile, not a self overclocking feature. It means that the memory has been tested under a timing that’s beyond the Jedec spec. How far it was set depends on the build quality of the memory chip. If you get ddr4 that’s higher than 2666. turning xmp wont achieve their highest preset speed, instead it will capped at 2666. ( this is what you are describing in your post) However, if you get 2133 or 2400. Turning xmp doesn’t do anything. Because you are basically telling the memory to run at 2133 or 2400.
