I recently bought the ASUS 970 gaming/aura MOBO from Newegg, I am wondering if there is a newer BIOS software that I need to update? or since nothing is wrong with the current software provided, should I just leave it alone?
IF you haven't installed an OS, then I would recommend updating the BIOS to the latest prior to installing the OS. I also recommend at least an overnight run of MEMTEST -- http://www.memtest86.com/ to help verify hardware stability prior to OS installation.

There are several BIOS revisions available in the ASUS webpage for that motherboard. However, changing the BIOS version, while safe if done correctly, can also lead to big problems if done wrong. New BIOS versions are made available when some hardware incompatibility has been detected that needs fixing. So, if you are not having any problems with your hardware as it is now, keep the BIOS version, just don't mess with the BIOS if it's not necessary.
