Question Asus, MSI, Galax, Gigabyte, PNY, Palit, Etc. - Which product line to buy?

There are so many board manufacturers and each manufacturer has multiple lines of the same GPU, making things very confusing.

I've noticed 2 fan models tend to be cheaper, and some product lines are bottom-tier, these include:
  • Asus Dual Evo
  • MSI Ventus 2X
  • PNY Verto Dual Fan
  • Zotac Twin Edge
  • PNY XLR8

Are there reviews that compare these product lines (as opposed to comparing one GPU against other GPUs)?

Naturally I'd like the card to have adequate cooling and not super noisy. Should I just go for the cheapest card I can get?

Asus have the pricier cards when compared to another brand's GPU of the same chip. You could stay away from that unless you find them at an unbeatable price.

To add, you've generically listed the series from which the GPU comes from in a brand's portfolio. You might want to mention or provide links to the GPU are you looking at. If the GPU is supposed to be an upgrade to an existing discrete GPU in your build, please mention it's make and model as well as the PSU's make and model and it's age.

Buy whoever has the best warranty and service in your country.

I remember back in the day I bought MSI 8800GTS and it came with a solid 3 years warranty, it went bad about 2 years and 9 months in and thanks to warranty I got a replacement upgrade to GTX280 for literally free, because 8800GTS was not in stock anymore.

Solid no BS warranty local to you is very important. And by the way - it's not MSI endorsement, it just happened to have a very good service locally for where I am and that was more than a decade ago too, situation may be completely different for you.

---

Other than that, simply hit the reviews to compare cooling performance, noise and so on.

The big names should all be fine in the warranty department right? I've used Gigabyte, Asus, MSI (back when they went by "MicroStar"), etc. Zotac and PNY I'm less familiar with.

I miss EVGA, I feel lost without them, sniff.....

Depending on the review you see/read, one can say this "card/line is good", while the other one may say "this looks very cheap", everything is subjective. And lets not forget lately everything seems to be made in a way to last very little time and to break fast and so you go buy a new one.

As someone already mention, don't trust in big names, just get the one that have the right price and strong warranty and service in your country.
