Hi.I have a brand new Asus😛5G41T_M TX motherboard w/one broken pin on the CPU775 socket....I have downloaded a 775 schematic and established that its pin AG 21 and designated VCC.......
I do know some pins are irrelevant to the operation of the Motherboard/CPU... I would be sincerely grateful for any comment here ...Please note Asus will not take it back under warrantry etc.. Thanks HK

Try it out, if possible. Vcc is a power pin, and I think it is one of the main ones. Therefore, there will be several, and the others should be able to handle the load OK as long as you don't overclock or use one of the most power-hungry CPUs available for it, and the socket isn't made by Foxconn.

If it's brand new, RMA the board back to the vendor. Don't try to fix it. Don't try to install the CPU into the socket.

There is simply no clearance or tolerance in those sockets. If the contact is partially broken off, it may twist the CPU in the socket causing short circuits or even worse, physically breaking the CPU when the socket clamp is closed.
