Hi,

I bought new PC parts a couple days ago and get the same problem as said above. No POST, no display, no beep and no optical mouse/keyboard lights. The power button on the motherboard stays red when it's on or off. No lights by the RAM if that is meant to happen?

Specs:
ASUS P6T SE
ATI Radeon HD 5770 VTX 1gb
Intel i7 920 @ 2.66 ghz
3x2gb Corsair TR3X6G1600C9
600W ModXstream-Pro OCZ600MXSP

The old compoenents are Seagate 400gb SATA HD and Lightscribe DVD-RW both which I know are working as I just took them out the old machine. I wish to fomat the HDD but as said, haven't even reached the BIOS or seen anything on screen!

Attempted:
Switching CMOS batteries (unless it has to be a specific type? I took it out my old HP)
Motherboard CMOS jumper reset (I don't find this clear enough but I have attempted, maybe I did it wrong?)
Putting in my old ATI Radeon x1300/x1600 series 512mb graphics card
Removing all RAM, leaving only 1 in red slot A1, putting in B2, replacing that stick with one of the others

A friend of mine said to get the latest BIOS and use a USB key to update.. but firstly theres no display to even do that unless it's automatic when I put the key in (please let me know), and secondly the light on the USB key, like the mouse, does not light up.

I have yet to remove everything from the case and run it as such... just going to do that now.

Well I was just being stupid, my problem was there are 2 power connections for the motherboard. The long one and a 4 pin one which is next to PSU... my bad!!!

i had almost the same rig asus p6t and saphire 4890 2gb and 6gb ocz ram with the same issue.

the reason for that was that the gpu required more power.

At first , i connected only the pci-e from my power supply to the slot on the ati. The system started up, but nothing happened-just fans running at full speed.

Then i connected the cable that was included with the gpu, to the 2 X 4pin connectors at the one end (for more power supply) and connected the other end to my second 6pin slot on the gpu that was still empty.

It solved the problem.

1pcie power supply ----> 1st 6pin slot on the gpu

2 X 4pin -----> cable that was included with the gpu ------> 2nd 6pin slot on the gpu

I also have the black screen of death problem ver similar to gunsmoked. My spec:
Asus P6T Deluxe MoBo
i7 920
Sapphire HD4870 512MB
3GB Crucial DDR3
1TB Caviar Green
be quiet Dark Power psu 650W

I get 3 leds on the graphics card. Case fans all spin up as does CPU fan. The MoBo has onboard reset and power on/off buttons. Both these light up.
The system was working ok for about 6 months. Then started to get no video output whatsoever on occasions. Rebooting solved this for a while. Now nothing at all. Have tried a different graphics card. This worked once, now same problem. Have cleared CMOS by jumper but no joy. Still can not get into BIOS even and machine wlll not POST. CPU was running at about 50c but believe that to be within tolerance. What is gong on? Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received, right now have very expensive paper-weight.

mine worked for a day 🙁
exact same problem
