Asus p8p67 PRO - Failed BIOS update - No screen working.

Hey, I tried to flash my bios to the latest one using the EZ-flash function in the BIOS.

I had downloaded the latest version and put the .rom file on the desktop, then i restarted the computer and went into bios, chose the file and it started flashing the bios. It completed and said "done, reset by clicking here" and i clicked the button provided and the screen just froze. It sat there for well over 20 minutes. I finally forced the computer to shutdown by pressing the power button and when i restarted the computer i would get no response on screen, it'd be pitch black.

So i researched and found out that clearing the cmos could be an alternative fix, didnt work.
I cleared the cmos by using the cmos pin-controller tihngie, and by removing the battery, and once again with both methods and holding down the powerbutton for 30 seconds to make sure there was no current at all left. (all of the above were made with the power out of the PSU and the PSU shut off, ofcourse).

I tried to remove my ram and run only 1 stick in A2, then B2, no change at all. Everything goes on, all the fans start, but i get a red LED being on. 'cpu_led' when i start the computer (memory led glows green and so does the GPU led)

I thought i might have bricked my bios so maybe i could re-flash it with a correct version. I put the correct bios on a newly formatted fat32 usb stick and renamed it properly for my bios, but im not sure how to flash my bios with no screen. I just put the stick in the back of the computer, pulled all my harddrives out so it wouldnt try to boot from them and choose the usb and start the flashing but nothing happens, and since my backplate doesnt have like a "flash usb" button that newer ones have I have no idea if the flash is working or not. I just let it go for 40 minutes until i figured it just wasnt happening, so now im totally out of ideas about what to do. Do i have to buy a new bios chip? or do you guys think it could be the cpu (which has worked super fine forever) it just seems so unlikely that the cpu would go out when a biosupdate hangs so I just have to think the chip got bricked somehow. Please any advice about what to do would be awesome, thanks.

I am pretty sure that there is a BIOS flashback button on the p67 v pro. Just use the USB with the nothing plugged in aside from the PSU. you do not need to jump it. I think you may need the CPU/RAm in but that would be it.
Oh I forgot to mention that the p67 and h67 Intel Chipsets were recalled some time in 2011. The Sata II ports has issues and there were issues with USB ports in some cases

I do not know how EZ flash works. I mean I know how to do it basically but I am not sure of how well it works as opposed to flashing in the BIOS menu which will work unless the power is unplugged in the process or a power flicker happens.

Hey, I appreciate the time you have taken to reply to this.http://www.maximumpc.com/files/u127998/build_it-3838full.jpg here's a picture of the motherboard, I cannot see a bios flashback button, if im totally blind i'd love for you to tell me where it is and make me feel totally stupid, it's all worth it.

For what it's worth i did flash from the bios itself, im pretty sure it was called ezflash in there. the process was the following:

go into bios -> advanced settings -> tab to the furthest right -> choose ezflash update > it tells me to locate the flash file -> i find it where i put it (on the desktop) I chose it, started flashing and completed the process, it told me to restart by clicking "here". I clicked "here" and the screen froze.

Sorry. I thought it was like mine because we basically have the same MB but mine is a p8z77 v pro. p67,z68,z77 v pro have very similar layouts. I forgot that the BIOS flashback was introduced in on X79 and Z77 motherboards. BIOS flashing is not the crap shoot it once was. the EZ flash 2 utility is pretty reliable. I just used it myself and luckily nothing went wrong but i was biting my fingernails waiting for it to finish. All it takes is a power flicker and that BIOS chip is done. If all else fails you can replace the BIOS CHIP as long as it is not soldered, It should not be as yhe Asus E store sells P8 series bios chips. http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3885. Hopefully you will not need to use it. I am having a similar issue with another Asus p8 MB. It wont do anything, just the green led light is on. But I have not had the time to really check it out.
