Asus PB238Q HDMI audio to PC speakers instead of monitor?

Recently bought a PB238Q and loving the picture quality and colors on it. I was just curious if it was at all possible to have the sounds from my PS3 which is connected by HDMI, going to my 5.1 speakers instead of the monitor's stereo speakers?

My old setup with a Samsung T240 had a 3.5 line out which I could hook to my PC's sound card to get the audio outputting to my speakers, but this monitor only has a line-in.

So the monitor doesn't have an audio out? Are you sure the other one is definitely an input?

Doesn't seem like it. The jack itself is green, and all information from the manual and Asus website states it's an audio-in.

Yup, nothing happened. Sound still coming out from the monitors stereo speakers.

Just wondering what my options are before I decide to go out and grab another monitor and use ths PB238Q as a 2nd display for PC.

You can get a component red and white connector (not sure of the actual name) to audio and use that on the play station to speakers, that should work
