Hello
My 2 and half year old computer went dark 2 days ago (with some noise ?). I tried psu and it was broken. I bought a new one (corsair CX750M). Put it on and got just small flicker of fans. Then I pulled graphics card (Club 3D ATI Radeon HD6870 Graphics Card ), hard drive etc off and tried only motherboard. Now fans run just fine I added stuff untill graphics card and again silence.

So I guess new graphics card in on shopping list ?.
But when I try to run system without card It does not send to screen but hard disk sounds fine. I tried hdmi and vgi, (don’t have vga cable). Board gives 1 long beep and 3 short ones. Asus p8z77-v lx manual says no vga detected.

Question: Can I get system working without buying new graphics card, just to make sure its only thing that got broken. Do I need vga to test it?
I have windows 7 installed. And my motherboard bar code ends 0610 (it had some significance in one other thread on almost similar subject.

Waiting your words of wisdom.
Old Newbie.
PS. if I get this working, what graphics card you recommend?
Prosessor is I5-2550

I checked that mobo should have integrated grapfics prosessor

"

But prosessor I5-2550 does not.

Resetted cmos by removing battery for few seconds. No change. Still piiip pip pip pip and black screen.

I did some investigation and found out that my prosessor I5-2550 does not have integrated grapfic prosessor. So I must install new grapfics card to see if mobo still works🙁

The ASUS P8Z77-V LX motherboard definitely does have an integrated GPU:

http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/P8Z77V_LX/specifications/

It's not on the CPU, it's on the motherboard itself.

That's the one I asked you try connecting your monitor to (with the with the HD 6870 card removed).

I have removed HD 6870 card, tried to connect with vga, hdmi and dvi. Tried two different screens. No change. Still piiip pip pip pip and black screen.

I also first thought that p8z77-v lx has gpu, by reading manual. But got advice from local forum that it means only that mobo supports cpu:s internal gpu.

You've been misinformed my friend. . Did you read the spec sheet for that motherboard?

It clearly says Graphics: Integrated Graphics Processor

That means the board has a built-in GPU, it doesn't need a separate graphics card or an APU..

Now it's quite possible that the board's integrated GPU may have failed, but believe me it does have one.

Im still in doubt. My intell prosessor does not have integrated gpu
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5-2550K.html

"Integrated graphics None"

Could it be that when mobo manual refers to "Integrated Graphics Processor" it means cpu:s Integrated Graphics Processor?

For example i5-2500K has gpu HD 3000.

If you are sure that my mobo asus pbz77-v lx has gpu, could you or some one find out what it is?
