Asus Power Surge Detected

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, and I'm having trouble with my machine. I built her about half a year ago, and I'm having some its become really problematic.

I was playing a graphic-intense game, Final Fantasy 14, when my computer first shut down on me. It restarted and I got the whole "Asus Power Surge Detected" message. I thought nothing of it, and played the game again. Given a few minutes, it shut down on me again, except this time, it didn't restart. My PSU was fried. So I went out and bought a new PSU, same model. It worked great at first, but I just got the Asus Power Surge Detected message again. After I did some research, reset my CMOS, and disabled the function, I was fine for a while. Except this happened again this morning. Is it the mobo? Or is it the PSU? I would think it's the mobo considering I replaced the PSU already, and this happened again, so it can't be a lemon twice. Or extremely rare, at that. Also, to note, this can't be faulty wiring. This occurred first at my college apartment, and second at my home.

My relevant components:

Asus M5A 78L-M LX Plus
AMD FX 6300
ThermalTake TR2 600W
Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB
Toshiba 1TB 3.5" 7200 RPM

Should I invest in a new mobo? Would it be better if I got a different company/model? Or should I invest in a more reliable PSU like a Corsair 750W?

If you guys could help out, that'd be awesome. Thanks so much guys!

Solution
Your 600w thermal take should have been more than enough for a 660.

-Nothing wrong with the corsair you got, but both PSU's are a little overkill.

Nothing on that list should stress a 600w PSU.

...But your GPU isn't on the list. What GPU are you runing?

Thermaltake isn't Seasonic, but it's good enough that I wouldn't expect two different units to have identical failures back-to-back.

Well, I mean I have to buy a new PSU anyways since this one's dead. I don't want my mobo to blow out a new PSU though, in the case it is my mobo.

Well, I spoke to some people. They told me that my GPU uses a lot of wattage, and I noticed that the ThermalTake's PSU has less than 72% efficiency. So I dished out the cash and I just bought myself a Corsair CX750M, 750W with 80%+ efficiency. Hopefully this has the power. I'll update if this craps out.
