Asus Prime B350-Plus with Patriot 3000mhz DDR4 Issues

So I'm running into an issue with my Patriot DDR4 memory with my new Ryzen build. Whenever I try to raise up the memory speed from its default 2133mhz, my PC will restart, then I will have no video. The computer will sit on, but my mouse won't light up and my displays will not turn on. I have tried upping the speed to 2666mhz and 3000mhz, and upping the voltage to the suggest 1.35v for that memory. However, the memory will not work for me at any other speed than the normal 2133mhz.

I know it might be a simple BIOS issue since these Ryzen mobo's are still very very new. I just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything wrong on my part.

Thanks!

Specs
AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (Currently sitting at 3.7GHz and 1.125v according to CPU-Z)
16gb (2x8gb) Patriot Viper 3000MHz DDR4 Memory
Sapphire R9 390 (8gb GDDR5)
240gb PNY SSD
1tb WD HDD

Solution

Looked at this one and there seems to be 2800mhz Patriot ram that via docp can run at 2666mhz,

PATRIOT PV416G280C6QK 16GB ( 4GB*4) SS N/A Heat-Sink Package 16-18-18-36 1.2V 2800 @ DOCP2666
might want to try those settings manually, but as you already found out is it possible that this doesn't work and that a future bios maybe will give the compatibility you need. It's probably the latter.I would wait for a while too.
If you can still ,after talking to the vendor, swap you current ram for something in that list that seems to work at higher speeds could you look at that too.

I did see DOCP with my memory speed, so I set it to that. I also did another manual overclock (sitting at 3.63GHz), and switch to the Wraith cooler so I can try it out (I was using a Hyper 212 EVO which I will probably stick with). My computer would only boot up to 2400MHz on the ram, any higher than that, and I would get the black screen and constant restarts.

I had the same problem with my kingston savage 2800Mhz, i found in the spec sheet that ryzen supports as follows

On short for 4 DIMS memory max 2133 for 2 DIMS memory max 2666. My case is 4 DIMS (i got 4 stick of ram at 2800).

What did you do? What did you change i mean ...

That seems quite low as a voltage for an AMD chip, looking at the clock it runs at.

Does the DOCP function give more profiles to choose from? Like one on 2666mhz for instance ... ,might want to try that. This is about what is suggested above.^ Otherwise you might have to try and set speed, timings and voltage for yourself.

DOCP was set to the DDR4-3000MHz, timing set at 16-16-16-36, voltage set at 1.350 for the DRAM.
CPU ratio is set at FID 150, DID set to Auto, voltage set to 1.350v, currently OC'd to 3.75GHz.

I tried the DOCP function for 2666, but my PC didn't boot.

Ok let try again maybe i get heard this way, there are only three motherboards which supports bclk overlock(which you need to support higher ram right now), any other mid-entry low-end motehrboard DOES NOT SUPPORT RAM HIGHER THEN 2666 with two stick and higher then 2400 with four stick if you are lucky, no matter what it says in the box or on the website. It is a new product which is not fully polished and needs some time to be compatible, at least what they told us now we wait and see. Or go and pay 400$ for a motherboard and you can boot at 3000 mhz. In my case even with two stick can t boot at 2400 not even 2666.

If you dont believe me go here and check yourself, be sure there are 2 compatibility column, default ram and ryzen also you got at the end dots to specify with how many dimms works at that frequency. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B350-PLUS/HelpDesk_QVL/

I updated to this one when I got my board, still no help.

I will just wait out and see if ASUS releases any new BIOS that will fix this issue.
