New build, doesn't post:

Mobo: ASUS Prime X470 Pro
CPU: Ryzen 2700X
RAM: GSkill Trident 3600MHz
PSU: Corsair HX1000i

I currently have it outside the case running on the box, with only the 24 pin mobo, 8 pin CPU, power switch and HDD LED connected, and the Displayport monitor and USB keyboard plugged in. The lights and fan come on, then the fan reduces speed and the RAM LEDs light up. The HDD light blinks twice. Yet I never get anything on the screen. I know for sure the monitor and monitor cable work. If I leave it on, the CPU fan changes speed periodically.

I've gone through all the typical checklist stuff, resetting CMOS, trying different RAM placements, no placements, etc. I do not have at the moment a PC Speaker, but will get one in the next few days, and have not independently tested the PSU. I have already contacted ASUS and am waiting for a response.

My question for now however is, how likely is it to be a problem with the CPU? The fact that the RAM light up, the CPU fan adjusts its speed, and the HDD light blinks a bit at the beginning seems to suggest that at least works? It's hard to imagine that stuff could happen without a CPU...

Solution
You can't use the onboard with a 2700x, it doesn't have integrated graphics like Intel. AMD only offer integrated graphics in its APU processors, 2200G and 2400G. You won't get any video output without a dedicated GPU.
One thing I should add is, after running it for a bit and shutting it off, if I quickly unplug everything and touch the CPU, it's warm. So it's definitely getting power, at least.
