Hello,

My build will be...

  • CPU: AMD 3700X with Wraith cooler
  • Graphic: RX570 (Used)
  • Mainboard: Asus prime X570-pro vs Gigabyte Aorus Elite
  • Ram: 32GB(DDR4 21300, 16x2)
  • SSD: Samsung Evo 970 (Used)
  • HDD: WD 2TB blue
.....

This one is for calculating big excel files (at least 35mb).

Since the price of X570 board is crazy now, I was going to buy X470.
Unfortunately, some users say that the X470 has some BIOS issues with Zen2.

For the excel, I don't need a fancy graphics card, so it saves some money for the board.

2 boards are in my mind for now.

1. Asus Prime X570 Pro
- Pros: Good looking, VRMs, Customer service in my country(fast update)
- Cons: High price

2. Gigabyte Aorus Elite
- Pros: Not bad looking, VRMs
- Cons: Bad reputation for customer service, only 3 fan slots, but 1 is for CPU = fan hub required.

Can you guys tell me about my choices or recommendations?

Thanks,

Ryan.

If it's just Excel spreadsheet, your build are overkill You could make do with a 2400G and get the best of both worlds(CPU+GPU) while also sipping on power.

I'm using i5-9400 with 8gb ram now. It takes longer than 1 min to just open the excel files. They have more than 100,000 rows and many columns with formulas.

The original file was for 1.5 year data. I had to divide 3 files because of calculation time. Although the calculation time is shorter, it requires more time and effort to manage them eventually.

Under my research for the last couple of months, the more cores and rams are the better performance for the excel. I think the 3700X+32ram are the best in my budget.

So please help me out.
